My understanding of resilience began long before my career in healthcare.
Losing my mother to breast cancer when I was eight, and later navigating my own inherited cancer risk, profoundly shaped how I understand courage, choice, and the stories we tell ourselves.
Those experiences inspired my TEDx San Diego talk, Scars Are What Make You Powerful, and ultimately my Inner Fire Framework - a way of transforming adversity into courage and action.
Our experiences don’t have to define our limits; sometimes they reveal strengths we never knew we had.
