Flip the switch and it moves.
Progress happens when we lift one another; when someone reaches out, listens, encourages, and stays present with us.
“We rise by lifting others,” comes from Robert Ingersoll, a 19th century political speechwriter whose words often drew crowds larger than the politicians themselves. He spoke boldly and with compassion about education and dignity.
He understood something timeless: when one person moves toward another, the whole system begins to move.
The Dave Matthews song, Two Step, is a perfect reminder of this. “We climb on two by two, to be sure these days continue.” Because it’s not only about where we’re going, but also who we’re moving with.
Light spreads. Momentum follows.
Connection is a Current
